ScamShield processes visible Facebook Marketplace and Messenger inquiry text locally in the browser. Normal operation makes no external network requests and sends no messages, feedback, or trust decisions to a server.
Local extension storage may contain settings, bounded message fingerprints and timestamps for behavior history, local allow/block and trust decisions, false-positive feedback metadata, and diagnostic counters. Raw buyer-message text is used temporarily for analysis and is not retained in behavior history. Users can clear feedback, lists, settings, or all local data in Settings.
AI assistance is future-facing only. The default provider is local/no-op; no external AI provider or message transmission is enabled.
